Hershey Bars, Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!
Discussion
Why do they make these? Why would anyone buy them?
A colleague has just return from the good ‘ol US of A and despite being told on no account to bring back the nasty objects, he brought me one back.
I’ve had a mini Hershey bar before and it wasn’t very nice, with a distinct aftertaste of VOMIT! However I thought maybe there was something wrong with that one. That one was also eaten in the winter and was cold.
So I unwrap todays, it’s a bit soft as it’s already hot in the office. A quick sniff reveals a vague smell of VOMIT, so I hand chunks out to each team member (including the Muppet who brought it back).
OMFG three of us are sat with warm VOMIT flavoured cubes melting on our tongues! Absolutely vile things, a whole cup of espresso and I can still taste this s
t. Who thought regurgitated chocolate was a good idea?
What kind of freak would enjoy it? I can only assume the same sort of people who would star in “one cup two girls” or whatever it was called
…so anyone like them?

Broadly speaking US chocolate is diabolical. The worst things are those little orange Reeses cups which is essentially a rancid chocolate cup filled with rancid peanut butter. Yuk.
The only chocolate I eat in the US is M&Ms which are surprisingly good, and come in proper fat b

i don't like the cups or the pieces but i love reeses nutrageous. they are far too sweet but for some reason i can't get enough of them. I avoid US chocolate. It tastes like the chocolate you get in 99p advent calendars...
Whenever we go to the US we are always summoned to supply a big bar of Dairy Milk. I've witnessed 1kg of Dairy Milk disappear in about 2 minutes down the cakeholes of American family members, accompanied with groans of pleasure at what they are missing out on.

It tastes different due to the reciepe which hasnt changed since they started making them, they dont or at least didnt use sugar in the chocolate but instead milk as when the company was in its infancy Milton S. Hershey couldnt afford to buy sugar so instead used milk to sweeten the chocolate.
Survived for 3 years by visiting 'British' shops and paying a premium for imported UK chocolate and having family send parcels over.
It really is terrible, with the exception of M&Ms.
Butterfinger is ok, but it is mostly a peanut brittle type of thing with a thin coating of actual chocolate.
You find non-chocolate substitutes though, donuts are everywhere and lovely be they Krispy Kreme or local shops, cinnamon rolls, Dairy Queen Bizzards etc.
I managed to put on 2 or 3 stone without hardly touching the local chocolate! Since returning got back to 34 waist though.

Hershey is OK once you get used to it and certainly better than Cadbury's Dairy Milk.
