Chapter 1, Michelin star restaurant in Kent
Discussion
All, I tried Chapter 1 last month, after reading many good reviews.
My opinion: great restaurant. Loved the decor and the space, all tables spaced out well so you feel relaxed. No bumping into other diners/staff etc...
Food was very consistent, and I thought the Pork belly was cooked perfectly.
We recently stayed and ate in the Triannon Palace, Versailles (2 Michelin stars I believe) and my wife thought the food there was leagues ahead of Chapter 1. I agree that the Frenchies did make some stunning dishes, the desert was out of this world (layers of different chocolate/ice cream (some with other filling) at different temperatures), although I think the bar was set fairly high at Triannon and she was being unfair. What do you guys think?
I'd definately go back to try some other dishes, they apparantly do a good Sunday lunch also... The houses in Keston Park behind the restaurant aren't too shabby also!

Kent is a big place, but if you're in shooting distance of the east coast there are some other Michelin rated places - Read's just outside Faversham, and the gastro pub The Sportsman between Faversham and Whitstable. One Star each ... but as the stars reflect value for money, and Read's is about twice the price of the Sportsman, Read's food is significantly more elaborate. And if you're in that neck of the woods, Wheelers Oyster Bar should be on the list. It's food is at easily as good as the Sportsman. The style of the three could hardly vary further, but they all produce some pretty serious food.

So has anyone eaten at the fancy Indian place near the BP station in Widmore Road - walking distance from us but we'ew never tried it.
Chapter 1 is great and get them to call you a cab - they use a great company and last time we rolled home in a Jag XJ which was great fun.
Tamasha - keep meaning to try that as well but never get round to it (you're just across town from me).Chapter 1 is great and get them to call you a cab - they use a great company and last time we rolled home in a Jag XJ which was great fun.
Small world...Im in Bickley
We used to go to Tamasha when it first opened & it was very good.
A friend of mine who was bought up in India thinks Tamasha is the second best Indian he's ever eaten in outside India itself. (thats a bit of a mouthfull...does it make sense?)
Try it, you wont regret it.
Or get The Homesdale Tandoori to deliver & save a few £££s

I heard it was shut down a few years back for a salmonella outbreak - not sure if it was just hearsay or true. Only been once and that was about 7 years ago but it was nice from what I remember.
Last I heard on Chapter 1, they filed for Chapter 11?
