Anyone of you using them feel any difference in the taste of your water/tea etc? Do they really work and how do you know it?

I have one of these http://www.johnlewis.com/230306463/Product.aspx and find it very good as it cools as well

The question is if you feel any difference between the filtered water and the tap water.

London's tap water is pretty nasty, so we use one of the (older style, now) filter jugs. It sits in the fridge door, so the water is chilled too.

But, I've lived in places where it wouldn't be worthwhile in the past...

Yep, use one in London and it tastes different. Main benefit is it stops the kettle/coffee maker getting clogged with limescale though.

Makes a world of difference to a cup of tea, especially if you drink it without milk!!

Yep, it definitely tastes better. The tap water where we live isn't the nicest stuff around, but the Brita turns it into something that tastes quite pleasant. Certainly as good as bottle water.
