anyone have any good suggestions for things to do for a BBQ aside from your usual burgers, sausages and chicken? Did mushrooms last week on kebab skewers brushed with olive oil and soy sauce, delicious! Just trying to think of a few more ideas for interesting BBQ food?

You can do salmon steaks directly on the bars, or whole fish (best in foil pouch).

As a side, corn on the cob works well.

Octopus. Tenderise it, boil for about an hour, leave to marinate overnight and then wack it over the hot coals for about a minute each side the following day.

Asparagus wrapped in some nice ham lick

Was surprised to find out that both Lobster and Scallops work too smile

Home made burgers with Stilton work dangerously well too...

Grilled asparagus, you can soak in soya sauce and oil first then grill.
Parboil sweet potato then slice and bbq.
Half a tomato, grill the cut side for a few minutes, turn and fill with some garlic butter and grill for a few more minutes.
Stuff mushrooms with blue cheese.
Grilled quesadillas, sprinkle half a tortilla with cheese(can add spicy sauce for a kick), fold over the other half and grill on both sides. You need to be careful turning as the filling has a habit of oozing out.
Veg kebabs with pepper, onion, mushroom, courgette and cherry toms.
Large prawns still in their shell. Yum!

Lamb kebabs... marinate chunks of neck fillet in lots of garlic and rosemary for 24hrs. Skewer and cook....

Sweetcorn

Vegetable mix - re onion chunks, courgette, peppers, etc, then served with tortilla pancake things

Haloumi - cubed, skewered alternately with cherry tomatoes, then bbq'd.
