......get away with charging effectively Pizza Express prices for what is essentially reheated cardboard.

One of these horrors just opened up near us and we got the obligatory menu through the door full of offers.

Never had one before so thought we would have a go. Not only was the girl taking the order fking clueless, rude and generally a fking moron the pizzas were barely fking food!
I would not have expected a near dead Ethiopian child to take one off my hands, for nowt, to quell his distended stomach without cursing me for trying to poison him. Could not believe how absolutely fking hideous the thing was.

We got thin based ones, I have had items bought from ebay packaged in stuff more foodsome than this crap, it tasted better too. In fact my wife has actually been fking sick!!!

Now ordinalrily I would kick up a fuss but I would guess my complaint would not be an option on the computer and the por lass on the till would effectively implode when faced with me demanding a refund.

What's more amazing is the price, I paid £20 for 2 medium pizzas and 2 portions of potato skins, full price without the offer would have been 33 fvckin poundseek

I'll vote with my feet, never, ever again.

ps. Pizza Express.....why don't they open a take away? I love their pizzas, they are delicious and would surely make a killing with take away outlets

You can order takeaway from Piza Express. They just don't deliver.

Yeah but too far away for me really.

They would do very well with a network of small takeaway outlets.

Supermarkets sell the Pizza Express range (albeit somewhat limited)

You went wrong by ordering the thin crust, I've only made that mistake once. I can only describe it as ryvita, but with less taste. Go for one of the normal crusts instead.

yes

Their quality varies enormously. Our local one is very good and usually delivers within about 15 minutes of calling. In contrast, the one near my folks is rank.

BTW, am I the only one that thinks Pizza Express is overpriced st?

Dominos are generally very good so I'd say it was a new franchise and they don;t know what they're doing yet. Email head office with feedback, they take this very seriously and I'm sure things will improve and you'll get some free pizza which should be up to Dominos usual standard.

Having said that if you actually like Pizza Express pizzas (which I find pretty bland TBH) rather than just enjoy the restaurant then Dominos may not be for you, they are very different.

No. No you're not, but the restaurants are generally a very pleasant place to be which I think is how they get away with it.

I live literally a five minute drive from Sheffield city centre - and there isn't a Dominos that will deliver to us!

So if anyone wants a franchise option its got to be a goer!

No accounting for taste I suppose.

Pizza Express heaven is a Diavolo on a Romano base with a soft egg in the middle - delicious!!

That's the only one I ever get.

I may well email Domino's and report the bad experience. I'm willing to have my mind changed with a couple of freebies.

Dont order the thin base from Dominos, its gash. Its nothing more than a cracker with pizza toppings on it.

It might just be me but if I wanted a takeaway pizza there is no way on God's earth I would consider any of the "branded" places such as Dominos, Pizza Express/Hut, etc.

I instantly associate those places with overpriced poor quality food.
I'd much rather go to a local indie pizza shop but YMMV.

The local indie ones round here are about ten times crapper than dominoes ect..
