Inspired by the crap high street coffee thread....
Walk past a little Krispy kreme stand in my local Tesco quite often, they look quite tasty but the price seems a bit excessive to me. They are like £1.35 each and I'm sure I used to buy packs of 10 jam doughnuts for £1 in Sainsburys. My question is this, are they actually any good? I mentioned them at work the other day and some people got this crazy faraway look in their eyes and started waxing lyrical about them which I must admit piqued my interest. I haven't really got that much of a sweet tooth, but if they are really that good then I suppose I ought to give them a try.

I fricken love 'em. Just a shame that the nearest one is in Selfridges & Co (Birmingham)
Looked into the franchise opportunity, but you need something like £2mill (cash) in the bank and 15 years business acumen.

They are absolutely disgusting. So sweet they hurt with the texture of stale bread soaked in oil. I genuinely don't know how people can eat them but I've only tried them in the US, maybe they are different over here.
Here's the Krispy Kreme Lutherburger and yes, that is actually a hamburger and cheese in a glazed doughnut!

I've just seen the costs for opening a KK franchise.
$1million US for each outlet with a commitment to open 10 outlets.
No more for the UK though.
