Has anyone ever made any?

Basically my 2 tomato plants started to die about a week ago, but the tomato's that were there havent.

I would like to try and make some use of the tomato's before I throw the plants in the bin.

I'm trying to work out if I can do green tomato chutney, the tomato's aren't huge and I want to know if I can use them safely.

leave em for a little while an they should go red.

not sure if you have to leave them in the sun or not, but my nan always used to do that when one of her plants died (or she lied to me and bought some red ones )

Yes it is ok to make chutney with them.

600ml vinegar
250g seedless raisins
12 red chillis
25g dried root ginger
2tsp salt
500g sugar
Wash and finely chop tomatoes. Peel and chop onions. Peel core and chop apples. put tomatoes, onions and apples in a pan and add half the vinegar.Bruise chillis and ginger and tie in a muslin bag. Add the raisins and spice bag to the pan and cook until soft and pulpy. Add the remaining vinegar, the salt and sugar and stir well.Continue cooking until thick, pressing the bag of spices occasionaly with the wooden spoon.Remove bag, pot into warm jars.
