I really fancied one for lunch today and so went to my local sandwich shop to buy one. Although I've had far better it certainly hit the spot.

Ideally I want:

Soft white fluffy bap, no flour on the top
a little salted butter
lots of slow cooked pork shoulder
a layer of crackling throughout
some good home made stuffing with fresh sage and thyme made from crumbs and sausage meat
tart apple sauce
maldon salt
pepper

If you go to the races I am always astounded at what they charge for one of these. Around the £5 mark so someone's making a quick Buck or two!

I am very fussy about pork as I can't stand any soggy fat on my meat. One chew and that is the end of my appetite.
Hence when I have a pork & stuffing sandwich it has to be made by my own hands and with my selection of meat/cracking.
Those ready made tubs of the stuff that most sandwich shops use doesn't cut the mustard either.

I love this - always get do much when we have a pork roast so I can have these sandwiches the next day.

There is a guy who does a hog roast at Lancaster market every Wednesday and Saturday. £3.50 for pretty much exactly what you're describing there. Awesome. cloud9

Roast pork sarnies are one of my favourites. I did one recently using belly pork. Had the belly pork slow roasting and during cooking, went off the idea of the usual veg and roasties to go with it. Ended up with belly pork, stuffing and gravy on really fresh, crusty breadlick

One of the nicest sarnies I've ever had, although I don't think my arteries could take it regularly.
