Without stating the bloody obvious, I suspect that if one visited the OP's house for dinner the first sip of beer would be followed by a brief period of blurred vision, 5 lost hours where you would be unable to remember anything you did, and a 'strange' feeling in your asshole when you woke up - no doubt due to the large meal it received whilst you were dozing on the sofa.

The OP is evidently harking back to the days when an 'open sandwich' meant something entirely different.

Trouble is if I prepare a large meal for 4 people I would end up eating all myself

Weve got roving suppers in our village.. 4/5 groups of about 8 people, starters in one persons house, main in another then desert at the pub where everyone gets smashed.. you carry your bottle from house to house.. its a good night.
