soak them in cheap vodka, then drain away the vodka in a jug, cheap and might even taste nice.

Plum Ketchup ?

Delia Recipe, but found a reprint by Nigella.

You will need a big chutney pan and a hand blender, but it really is worth it, and lasts ages. We tend to keep it it large kilner jars and decant when required.

Where are you based? I'm sure there are a whole load of PHers who would happily help you out smile
Failing that.... how about plum wine?

Fantastic variety for baking with as they are nice and 'meaty' rather than just full of water like 'Victoria'.

Pflaumkuchen please yum

Plum sauce, make a plum jam as this will preserve. Then convert to the Chinese Plum style sauce as and when required.

Why the conversion? Plum sauce has a limited self-life.

I made a lovely plum and almond tart the other day- it was a bit like bakewell- used the plums instead of jam and half plums pushed into the frangipan, sprinkled with sliced almonds, it was lovely lick

Alternately give them away to the plumless and be seen a friend of great value and generosity.

We are going to jam ours - we are coming to the end of the last batch of jam from 2007.
