Franks hot sauce and wings
Discussion
Does any of the big supermarkets stock Franks hot sauce. I attempted Buffalo wings last night with Tabasco and Dave's insanity sauce. They were good but they are just not the same as in places like Hooters, Damon's etc. Tabasco seems to give them more of a vinegar flavor. All the yanks seem to use Franks hot sauce.
The method I used:
Cut wings up
Dust in flour with a bit of cayenne pepper, salt and pepper.
Deep fry and drain
Make up the sauce with melted butter, Tabasco, white wine vinegar and Dave's hot sauce.
Coat chicken with it
Serve with blue cheese dip and celery.
Anyone else got a good recipe without franks hot sauce.
Thanks
Jer

Yes, our local large Sainsburies stocks Franks Extra Hot. Our local farm shop, stocks Franks Buffalo 'Wings'. I was amazed, normally have to go to the States with a half-empty suitcase to bring a few bottles back. If you want some, PM me and I'll get them to send some to you. Importers are Bespoke Foods Ltd, London, SW8 58P.
I love Franks.
I love Franks.
Sainsburys, tesco and waitrose all stock it around here (Surrey,Berkshire,Hants boarder area)
Franks does make it better but leave out the vinegar you were adding above and they are not bad with Tabasco, we just use Tabasco and melted marg, about 50-50 but adjust for your tolerance to hot. Have just started using franks though and it is more authentic and works better on boneless buffalo wings.
