For those that havent noticed tesco are offering 24x440 ml cans of fosters for £10. Smaller tins but still a great deal. Offer is limited to 6 cases per customer and its valid online too so you dont have to rub shoulders with the proletariat. Awesome.

its light and works well in the summer. You can put a fair bit away and it doesnt leave you too hungover. Whats not to like?

If you prefer your lager to have a taste to it, they have the same deal on Stella Artois smile

Somebody's been watching the Fast Show...

As a chemistry student I once accidentally imbibed a small quantity of copper sulphate solution. Years later whilst trying 'Fosters' it seemed strangely familiar...

I have never, ever seen an Australian drinking Fosters. And knowing some of the crap they drink, that says a lot about that vile brew.

The only lager that tastes worse than Fosters is its "Australian" stablemate Castlemaine. Horrific stuff!

Not saying its great, but unless you go for 5% what else can you pour down your neck on an all-dayer BBQ and not fall over? I am on number 8 and I think I feel fine.

However, I do like the Becks Vier.

Plenty of continental 3.5-4% lagers that are bearable above anything Australian. And most of them can usually be found on offer at the supermarkets too.

Just my 2p but why drink something you don't like just because you don't want to get sozzled on 5% plus stuff over a long day? Just drink less or shandy up decent lager.

There seems to be a beer war on at the moment with the supermarkets for some reason. Morrisons started it and all the rest are falling into line. It goes to reason though, end of summer so not so many BBQ's and they need to shift stocks.

Probably because there are other things happening at the moment, like the price of petrol and the recession which is taking the focus off of the evils of cheap alcohol.

Enjoy it while you can as the topic of offering cheap booze to largely responsible drinkers campaign will start again at some point when other news starts wearing thin...
