What does everyone think of Levi Roots' cooking sauce.

I used some to cook chicken and found it fairly hot but also very sweet at the same time. It has around 25g of sugar per 100g which is far too much for a hot sauce. I personally didn't like it because of the high sugar content. Anyone else tried it?

I'm also a fan.

However it is too sugary to use as a marinade and tends to burn.

I rub whatever I'm cooking with jerk seasoning beforehand, and save the Reggae Reggae until just before the end, or have it on the table.

It's ok - we had a couple of bottles when they were on a bogof offer. Then returned to the usual Nando's peri-peri marinade and ketchup for ready made spicy sauce requirements.

tried it once, didn't think much to it. no better/worse than other jerk sauces i suppose, but having had the real thing in jamaica i always realte back to that, and chicken in the oven doesn;t come near it. might have a crack when i get my bbq smoker made.

The other half bought some a week ago. He used it to marinade some chicken breast for the bbq.

It was very nice.

im not a massive fan, but ive never found a jerk-style sauce that really tastes like jerk from a restaurant (or roadside oildrum bbq at an event etc). its ok as a ketchup but i prefer encona hot sauce for my caribbean flavour-adding needs...

It works well as a table sauce/ketchup replacement but less so for cooking, imo.
