Pub for nice lunch near M74 / A74?

Have checked the PH Good Grub guide, and nothing, nada, zilch.

Now I can't believe that the whole of Dumfries & Galloway is a cuisine-free zone, so can anyone recommend me somewhere nice that we can stop for a good bite to eat. If there's a nice road there/back I wouldn't mind travelling a little way off the motorway to get there, either!

Its not on the M74 but quite near the top of the M6.
