Not going to ask anyone to take photos at that time in the morning, but...

Though we eat very well, and cook very often, breakfast is a bit of a blankety blank - coffee and a cigarette as often as not. What do people actually eat for breakfast? Surely not breakfast cereals?

Coffe and two fags worked for me for years, but I'm smoking way less now so a bowl of mini wheats for me and I'm OK 'till lunchtime.

3 poached eggs on toast or 6 weetabix, normally rotated day to day. Breakfast is my favourite meal, i'd happily eat cereal every meal if it didn't give me horrendous trapped wind...

I'm a "paleo" eater, no grains no dairy, so toast/cereal is out.

So breakfast can be:
bacon, eggs, tomato
frittata
Boiled eggs, plain or with marmite
scrambled eggs with smoked salmon
cold cuts with sliced tomato
brazil nuts and jerky

since being a man of leisure it's usually one of the following after an espresso and a marlboro;

- warm croissants with home made jams and a yoghurt
- smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and muffins
- kippers with brown toast
- kedgeree
- full english
- bacon & pancakes with maple syrup

no wonder I'm putting on weight

Occasional fry up at a weekend but I'm a cereal fan. Shreddies, Sepcial K, Alpen and Raisin Wheats on the go at the moment. Never understand how people go without breakfast, most importaint meal of the day and I'd pass out by mid morning if I dind't have mine.

Depends how much time I have, I always have an espresso in a plastic cup as I leave the house, and I'll sometimes have some yoghurt before leaving for work. At work it's 2 slices of buttered white toast with tea or occasionally 3 sausages in a white bap.

Weekend breakfasts are normally fresh pastries from the shop down the road or a full English, both with cappuccino.

If at home:

Potato cakes
Crumpets with jam
Scotch pancakes with syrup

If the weather is nice and I have an easy day at work I go into town for croissants and coffee. smile

Interesting. How much do you guys'n'gals prepare in advance?

On holiday I like fruit salad with yoghurt, or a full English. At weekends I like a (tinned ok) crab meat omelette with asparagus, or scrambled eggs on toast. But these are quite an effort. On a weekday I'd consider toast with marmalade and cheese, but I normally pick the extra twenty minutes asleep...

Its been two slices of toast for a while now. But that was filling me till about 10 o'clock. So now its a couple of poached eggs on toast, or 5/6 weetabix.

When I get to work, its coffee and a tea shortly after.

On the weekend, one day it will be nothing till around midday when I roll out of my bed, normally a dominoes, and the other day is usually a fry up.

Usually all of these are accompanied by Camel/Marlboro.
