Evening all, I was really after an opinion on the above place, it’s my birthday soon, and I am bored of going out and getting lashed, it’s a very English and boring thing to do. So the other thing I thought that I like to do was eat, and more importantly, eat steak. I wanted something local and not too costly as most of my friends have st jobs, and thus don’t have mega money to burn late in the month..

Anyone been? I see good reviews, but always like to get to have more than one opinion..

Just down upper Richmond road is a nice Italian called Al Forno

Fillet Steak with peppercorn suace is very tasty, washed down with a few pints of Peroni.

yum

Not far from where I live and I've popped in a few times. Every time I have had a lovely meal....they aren't so good with dessert though, but I highly recommend it smile

You may already know this, but it is cash only. Just in case that saves you some embarrassment.

It really is lovely there. It's not cheap but great meat, great red wine and that's all that matters.

Decent chips (not a massive portion) and small puds, but otherwise it's superb (and a man can live on huge great steaks and red wine anyway). The best bit is that the Putney one is within staggering distance from home smile

Staggering for you, I'm a little way away!

What kind of pricing are we talking? I was led to belive that a decent size main is going to be £25~?

It's pricier than your average steakhouse.

Although I can't give you exact prices, I do remember the last time we went we had 4 x decent lumps of fillet with chips, 2 bottles of red, some water and 2 puds. We paid around £180 IIRC.....

A good weight fillet and chips is around £30, cheaper (and dearer) are available.
