Very nice hotel needed
Discussion
I am looking for a nice hotel within 120ish miles from Southampton/Portsmouth. I would like it to have an extremely good restaurant poss mich star. Snag is I only want 1 night, On a Saturday, as that's the longest wife and I can get away for. Also this hotel must have a decent car park where I can leave the car without stressing about it. Budget is about £300 for the night, not including evening meal or drinks. Any recomendations? Thanks!
Not sure if you fancy London but we stayed here for a few nights last month:

Great bar & resteraunt, great location, 2 mins marleybone high st, Oxford St is at the end of the road (couple of mins) & an NCP less than a minute away. My car was fine there, but there were DB9's etc parked in the street, so would assume its ok.
Rooms are fantastic, health suite/gym/pool/sauna etc free.

Michelin star restaurant, fabulous but not snooty service, mile long drive plus good car park (secure etc).
OH treated me to a stay here, it was wonderful. Close to Bath for a nice day trip too. I'm hoping to persuade him to take me back!

Fastlane girl, looks really nice, but want a 2 night minimum booking, so no go, Thanks anyway!

Shame Lucknham Park will only do two nights as it is excellent, with a fantastic new spa too.
You might want to look at Coombe Hotel near Honiton EX14 3AD

The Hambrough in Ventnor is one of my favourites anywhere though it might be too close for you?
Incredible sea views, award winning michelin starred restaurant and fabulous seafood. Beautiful rooms from around £200 a night. You need to add on the cost of a ferry, but it'll save you a long drive if it's for just one night.

Le Manoir? Just down the road from here and reportedly fantastic, 2 star restaurant with a hotel too.

Might be a bit over budget though.

I guess that means you are not taking the Suzuki 4x4 then?
Good luck with your quest. Shame it's not Scotland or I would have recommended the Glen Eagles hotel and some great roads around there.

Andy
