Brasserie Blanc

Went to the Cabot Circus restaurant (as featured on The Restaurant) for lunch today. Tried to stick to the "2 courses + wine for £13" menu but just couldn't do it.

Lovely piece of hot smoked salmon with vegetable picalilli, followed by Dutch calves liver, roast autumn vegetables & onion marmalade and a very drinkable Sauvignon Blanc to accompany. I chose the liver because I haven't eaten it since my mother used to cremate it when I was 9 and figured if I was going to try it anywhere, somewhere like this would be a good place to give it a punt. I wouldn't order it again; it was excellent, beautifully cooked, but not really my cup of tea if I'm honest.

Service was properly impeccable.

Anyway, well worth a visit if you are in Bristol or nearby one of the other locations.

I've been to the one in Leeds. Good value set menu, comes with a glass of drinkable house wine, nice bistro/brasserie atmosphere. I had the belly pork which was cooked very well.

For the money I'd definitely recommend it.

Interesting, I went to the one in Milton Keynes recently and was completely underwhelmed

I keep intending to go to the one in Bristol but am worried I'll find it dissapointing as there are a lot of very good restaurants in the area many of which are considerably cheaper.

Probably get round to it at some point though as reviews from all sources seem consistantly good
