But i know nothing about making coffee.

What type of coffee would i need to buy to put in it?

Also any other tips or suggestions?

Normal ground coffee.

Is that it? Hmm seems simple then.

Are they easy too use or is their a bit of a learning curve?

Coffee in the holder, don't pack it down too much, water in the base, on the stove.

Lovely.

Do you use hot water or start it off cold?

Couldn't be simpler. Fill base with water, insert filter johnny, fill with coffee and pop it on the stove. Seriously great coffee.

PS. If you want a looong coffee, americano or similar, just add more hot water to the cup.

That's a journey you'll need to take on your own to find what you like and its an even bigger field than wine.

Jamaican Blue Mountain is my fave.

I'm currently filling mine with medium roast Italian from Taylors of Harrogate. Depends what your taste is...

I thought id be able to get one from JL but they only have 3,6,9 cup ones. I live on my own and im aware that you can only make what it makes, so would I be better getting a 1 or cup? and if so where from?

Sorry for all the seemingly stupid questions.

Get a 3 cup, that will stand you in good stead of a morning.

You'll never have too much off the coffee it produces.

The cup measures are small, a 3 cup one will be what you will drink first thing, you won't waste it.

I'd buy at least a 3 cup and then a bigger one for when you have company. If you're a bargain hunter like me check out car boot sales, these are the kind of thing people get bored with - that way you can have a selection! We also acquired one that was tent debris at LM. Very French I though, leaving behind a stove top expresso machine and china expresso cups!

Do watch out for when the water has all evaporated, you need to keep an eye on it or you'll burn the bottom out.
