The girlfiend's on a diet, and it's my turn to cook on Valentines days. Main course is probably going to be decided by the "All about meat" course I'm going on this week, but has anyone got any suggestions for starters and deserts that look/taste exciting but without the fat content of my usual favorites such as baked camenbert and cheesecake?

Starters
Bruschetta - tomato paste and olive oil on toasted baguette with a sprig of basil
Garlic mushrooms on toast
Sliced beef tomatoes and mozarella (although the cheese does have a highish fat content it may get past her..... )
Chorizo and green bean salad sprinkled with pine nuts
Soup of any description

Desserts
Chocolate mousse - there are some that are cocoa based and very smooth
Souffle - if you can master this she'll be impressed!
Apple pie / tart - use filo as it's less fatty than puff or shortcrust
Jelly with fruit in (sounds a bit dull but choose a nice flavour and it may win her over as visually it's often good)
Low fat cheesecake - use Quark instead of cream cheese

You could try something like this :

Very pretty, really unusual and probably quite easy to do yourself if you have the time and/or inclination - or quite special to have delivered

No idea how they keep the fruit as fresh as it needs to be, but as it's their core business I'd hope they'd be able to find a way.

Bruchetta or mushrooms are sounding good, cheers. Tried a cheesecake with quark once before but wasn't convinced by the taste, can't quite describe what the issue was but it wasn't as good as a real one.

A sliced banana in a bowl topped with a level tablespoon of Nutella. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir round so as to give the banana a good coating from the softened Nutella.

My favourite little treat for myself at the moment. Sprinkle with toasted flaked almonds or crushed pecans if you're feeling fancy.

Starter - the biggest king prawns you can find, marinated in ginger and garlic and chargrilled

Dessert - slices of fresh pineapple pan-fried in a bit of butter and sugar, served hot with a sprinkling of black pepper

We tried something a little lighter for tea last night:

Use a tortilla wrap (size of your choice).

Lightly coat in Humous

Shred some iceberg lettuce and sprinkle on.

Thinly slice avocado and place on top.

Lemon juice / olive oil / salt / black pepper - to taste.

Roll it up and cut in half for a starter, or whole (or two paperbag ) as the main dish.

I know its not the lowest fat thing on the planet, but subtle, tasty and quite refreshing.

Made a change to recovering from a giant roast anyway.

Good choice. Followed up with a piece of the coldest, sweetest most juicy melon.
