I've only really tried Morgans spiced rum before, but I received a bottle of Sailor Jerry's for chrimbo.

Bit more 'grown up' tasting than Morgan's; it's lovely!

Very nice indeed. I've always got a bottle in the cabinet.

Lovely on a summers day over orange juice and plenty of ice.

Its very good stuff, and seems to be everywhere these days. I think its best with ginger ale and lime, its too sweet to go with Coke.

better than morgans yes, but i also find a slap in the face better than a full on punch.

for £1 more, buy appletons vx, the difference is astounding. if you want that 'spiced' taste with a mixer, make a cuba libre using tesco almond coke.

Almond coke? Is that slang for Dr Pepper or do I need to have a browse down the drinks aisle next time I am shopping?

Love the stuff!

But is it me or does it smell like cream soda when mixed with coke?

Sailor Jerry's is going to be re-released with a new even more retro label and a slightly different taste. I saw a bottle of it whilst out last night. If any of you rum lovers are based in Manchester, I suggest you visit Keko Moku in the Northern Quarter which is a Tiki Bar and stocks loads of different rums.

Got into it a few months ago, love the stuff.
My personal mixer of choice is ginger beer. Sounds a bit girly, but tastes lovely...

Not tried it yet - Appletons seems interesting too. Trip in order to Oddbins, me thinks.

Black Seal is about $28 here (for a litre) - 750ml a bit less I think...about $24.

Overproof (151) is $35/$38 ish (depends on which store/off-license you go to)

Old Rum is about $75.

Didn't realise you are living outside the UK! Locally made then too? wink

I'm going to order a bottle of Goslings, if I fail to find a stockist locally.

Ha Ha - yeah. When they say its the national drink they mean it (although Carlsberg Elephant Beer runs it very close wink )

There are other Rums for sale here, but unsurprisingly they don't get much of a look in.
