As I say - where can I find these?

It's a crap, little photo, but I hope you get what I mean.

They are basically small potato balls - oven cooked I assume.

We used to have them when I was younger at school and uni and I feel like them now! smile

They aren't gnocci. They're like round potato croquette things I think. No idea where you would find them, possibly somewhere like iceland?

Potato Croquette Balls, also called Pomme Noisettes available in most supermarkets near the frozen chips.

McCain make them.

Probably best left as a decent memory.

Much like the Countach poster. Great memory, crap in reality.

Moose: how hard can it be to knock a few up.

All they are is mashed potato (easy on the milk and butter) - usually with something added and mashed in like finely chopped fried onion or a good diced ham.

Roll it into balls/tubes/little cakes/whatever then breadcrumb by dipping in a beaten egg and rolling it in the crumbs. Twice.

Shallow or deep fry in properly HOT oil until golden brown.

I sometimes make them if we have left over mashed potato.

Oh... you can make your own breadcrumbs by taking old bread, crumbling it up, tossing in some oil and baking in the oven on a baking tray.

Then smoosh them in a food processor or by hand.

Or you can buy them.

Indeed.

On those lines, I tried Mr Brains faggots a while back out of the blue. Loved them when I was a kid. The grown up reality was that they were repulsive.

Oh, and if anyone wants it, I still have my Countach framed picture in the garage!

They look like Potato Croquettes.
I expect any decent supermarket would have them in the frozen aisle (Waitrose certainly does).

shakotan - those are correct. Except you can't seem to buy them anywhere frown

Also have e-mailed McCain, but not got a reply back.

How disappointing as I wanted some (as bad as that sounds!!!) hehe

Waitrose definitely do sell these, if there is one near to you?
