Nice Italian restaurant in Manchester.

Ok, got a date on Saturday and we've agreed to go to an Italian. I've been looking and so far San Carlo is fully booked and she's said that Croma has gone downhill a bit. Might have to go for Pizza Express if all else fails.

Anyone know any decent Italians in Manchester city centre??

I prefer Piccolino as it has been open for a while now and is always busy. It's only across the road from Croma too.

Rosso is the new kid on the block. Opened before Xmas and is situated at the very top of King Street.

San Rocco on South King Street was nice last time I went in (which was, admittedly, 3-4 years ago.....)

Probably too late now (how did it go?) but those in the know swerve the town centre and go to Puccini's in Swinton town centre. It's not too far from town and is worth the effort. Some of the best real itallian food you'll find.

Also its not a chain like Piccolino's etc... not that there's anything wrong with that I like Piccolino's for a early evening dinner when in town.
