Bought a bottle of this in tesco and it's bloody lovely!

It's surprisingly sweet, very, very smooth and has a lovely floury grain flavour.

Anyone tried it?

The former.

I could liken it to a single cask isle-of-arran I've got called "a bakers dram". Very prominent grain flavour.

I could drink it all night! (The beer that is, nopt the isle of arran. Although, come to think of it...)

Try - if you get the chance - Erdinger Dunkel. Dark, slightly smoky, and utterly delicious.

Au contraire, I used to live on Schneider Wiesse when I was living in Zürich, absolute nectar.



It does weigh in at a cheeky 5,4% so care is needed if attempting a major session...

My OH is German and when we visit the inlaws her father always gives me Paulaner Weissbier. It's lovely stuff.

It is quite good stuff. Not the best wheat beer I have had but enjoyable.

Erdinger is lovely stuff, the 'local' weissbier anywhere near Nurburg.

Can drink it all night in preference to pils.
Never seem to get a hangover either.

Fruli tonight, a belgian white beer made from strawberries!

Just tastes like that cheap fizzy strawberry juice you get in chip shops.

Not my thing at all.

I quite like some of those fruity beers but they're not session ales. The only beer I can recall never being able to finish is Schlenkerla Smokebeer, it's like trying to drink beer that's been strained through a tramp's overcoat after they've been dancing round a bonfire for a week.

Dark, cherry, beery tartness.

6.5 volts as well.
