Making your own biltong

Has anyone tried making your own biltong?
I'm very tempted to buy/make a box and give it a go.

It's one food I can eat and eat. It's expensive to buy so I'm thinking I'll give it go and experiment with the spices.

I am but never got round to making/buying the dehydrator as I knew I would do it once or twice and get bored of waiting and not much room to store it.
