chipotle chiles in Adobo sauce.
Discussion
I've got my eye on a recipe that lists the above as one of the ingredients. The recipe says that the ingerdient is availiable in most large supermarkets, I've looked in the biggest Tesco and biggest Sainsburys in my area with no joy. I can order online from a specialist but the cost of delivery kind of makes the recipe uneconomical.
Has anyone any idea where I can get Chipotle chillies in Adobo sauce or a recommendation of a substitute ingredient?
Thanks!

To make a simple version of chipotles in adobo sauce, combine seven to ten medium dried chipotle peppers (smoked japaenos available in Tesco) with stems removed, one third cup sliced onion, five tablespoons cider vinegar, two cloves of garlic, a quarter cup of ketchup, and a quarter teaspoon of salt with three cups of water. Simmer all the ingredients over very low heat for an hour to an hour and a half. If you wish, you can puree the sauce before serving.
