Who else here eats like a starving dog? I have tried to slow my eating down but I'm struggling, I have just finished my plate and the wife has barely even touched hers! It can't be good for me but I've always been a quick eater.

Same here, really annoys my wife when we goto a restuarant, by the time she has salted her meal I'm finishing up!
Even worse if we have filthy food as I tend to start eating her chips once I've finished! hehe

I saw a programme once where they suggested 20 minutes is an ideal time for a meal to be eaten, eating too quickly can cause problems like indigestion and wind etc, do you have any of these?

I shovel food in like there is no tomorrow, always have done. The only time I slow done is when I'm in a restaurant because I'm chatting to people and usually having a drink at the same time.

Its well acknowledged that I eat like a labrador, everything in front of me as fast as possible!

I do suffer wind, chronic wind, I like the comedy, but I don't get indegestion.

I once was in such a rush to eat I poured my curry onto a naan bread, rolled it up and ate it like a Fajita!

The obvious solution is to trough three courses while she nibbles just one...?

I'll freely admit to being a bit of a shoveller.

Having lived most of my life in old houses, food by virtue of necessity needs to be snarfed up before it gets cold.

EFA smile

Another one here. I don't think I could beat my spaniels but it would be close.
I had a very perjink old aunt who used to lecture us,at length, that it was very bad manners to finish before your guests!
Thank goodness that one has been consigned to history or I'd be a bit stuck.

At least its not just me then! I do fart a bit but don't suffer with indigestion. I do feel bloated though as my stomach can't tell me I'm full before it's all gone smile

Never seen the point of eating quick unless you are worried about someone else stealing it. You can take hours preparing and cooking something, I just want to enjoy it.

I eat quickly when alone and do enjoy a good feed in this way. But when out with anyone else i do tone it down a bit and pause with the fork resting over the edge of the plate.

I may try this tonight:

I eat at the speed of light, always have done.

I think it comes from being one of four kids growing up - mum was a great cook, and we weren't allowed seconds until the plate was clean biggrin

But I thoroughly enjoy food, and can't phsyically eat slowly. Drives the wife crackers biggrin
