Gourmet Burger Kitchen
Discussion
In Liverpool today so popped in for lunch, me and the Mrs. First time for both of us but i wanted to go so we did
F me its expensive, two burgers with chips and two soft drinks was £27 but I accepted it and wondered (as it was packed) how everyone can afford it (tourists probably)
Anyhoo we knew when our food was coming because we had id`d the two tables before us (its pay and wait) they came and went and when three tables that came in after us got food I send the Mrs to "have a word" and we were then served next 40 mins after paying
The clearly busy and understaffed manageress brought our food over and I said I was a bit unhappy with the wait how about a round of drinks, she said they had dropped the table tag (order sheet) and that she was comping the whole meal and would we like extra drinks as well - F me !!!
I am impressed - takes a lot to impress a cynical sod like me but I was and the food was superb, I will be back
We left a £10 tip

I absolutely love GBK. Their aubergine and goats cheese burger is lovely.
With offers on, the missus and I will have a burger each, share a bowl of chips and onion rings and have a drink each for under £20.
This leaves us stuffed and I've never had a bad burger from there in probably 25-30 visits over the last 3 years.

Ooh interesting - I didn't know that GBK parent company also owned the Real Greek sites too.

Although I've not been recently, I am partial to a good burger and GBK out classes their nearest competitors, Handmade Burger Co by a country mile, whose burger's I found to be dry & underseasoned, and whose wall propaganda just stuck in my throat. Someone should tell them that "Traditionally reared" doesn't mean anything and that all beef in this country is "100% traceable".

My fave at GBK is the Greek Lamb -
They do need to get some carpet in there though - it's far too loud with all those hard surfaces.
I'm hungry now.

It depends on the branch, Windsor = good, Kingston = disappointing.
There is a small chain that's better Byron, one in Guildford not tried any others.
Really? I've always enjoyed eating at the Kingston branch, far more so then a few I've tried in Central London or the Richmond branch. There is a small chain that's better Byron, one in Guildford not tried any others.
May have to try the Windsor one. I believe there is a Byron in Kingston as well, near the Carluccios on the river front.
I have been a couple of times. On both occasions the burgers have been great, however service a bit less so. In both restaurants (Portobello Rd & Canary Wharf) it felt that as soon as I had the last bite they were ready to clear the plates from the table and move me on.
Fair enough it was busy but a bit to rushed for my liking!

OP may be the only person who has ever paid full price at GBK
