Came across this, a photo diary of how Romanian peasants 'convert' a living pig into food. Absolutely fascinating.

Warning... not suitable for the squeamish or vegetarians!

I find it amazing how they make use of virtually every part of the pig, not just the meat, as if it is perfectly normal and wasteful otherwise. It just shows how wrapped up in cotton wool (or indeed plastic) we are.

But do they use the blood?
I thought the only thing from a pig that wasn't used was the oink?

If I was allowed the meat of only one type of animal, pork would be it. Bacon, sausages, gammon, steaks, rind... What's not to like?
