Cleaning a Non Stick frying pan
Discussion
Long story but I have got a decent Jamie Oliver non stick frying pan thats about 6mths old & cost me £50-£60, my Ex treated it badly & it has a lot of burnt on food stuck to the bottom. Whats the best way to shift this as I really don't want to bin the pan & buy another one if I can help it. I have tried soaking it in water/fairy liquid overnight, boiling water in it then using a wooden spoon to scrape it, 2 desert spoons of bicard of soda in half a pan of water then soak it overnight & have also boiled it with bicarb. None of this seems to have done much, is the pan a goner or is there something I can do?
Sorry if this has already been covered somewhere before.

Sounds knackered if it has bonded onto the surface due to overheating, I'm afraid.
These are the ones I use - 5 years so far, and still as good as new.

Might sound odd but a bit of washing powder (persil etc) cleans most pans up. Couple of spoon full and some boiling water on the heat for a minute or two.
have you actually tried this?Fair play for making her an ex for spoiling your pan

Leave it to soak for a week and eventually the burnt on stuff will come off.
Trust me on this one. I've rescued many a honey-glazed chicken roasting pan in this way.
Soak in what? I have left it for days in water and water/bicard water/fairy & its still not come off - I think she may have wrecked it to be honest but it's becoming a 'cleansing' mission in more ways than one!Trust me on this one. I've rescued many a honey-glazed chicken roasting pan in this way.
