That's what we did with ours tonight.

The mushroom? my way would be small pan in low heat, knob of butter left it melt pop in mushroom and add another knob of butter, turn occasionally and cook until done.

You could add some crushed Garlic and herbs but I like mine plain.

Over to you...... smile

Griddle pan?
Rub room temperature steak with olive oil, salt and ground pepper.
Drop into red hot pan, turn.
Leave it in as long as suits.
Job done. My mouth is watering.

Get the pan or a cast iron griddle as hot as you can and only oil the meat not the pan. Season well and then cook on the smoking pan. Play it by ear as how you want it cooked, bt remember to let it rest in a warm place for 5 mins after removing it from the pan, the most important part of cooking. As it is a rib eye it needs to be medium not rare as the fat needs to melt during the cooking.
Enjoy!

Oven on 100.
Pan (preferably a oven proof griddle) on the heat and turned to st hot red glow.

Season the Steak and put it in the pan.
Turn after a minute or so.
After another minute put a knob of Butter on the steak and a knob of butter in the Pan.
Put the Mushroom on the Butter in the Pan and transfer to the oven for as long as it takes to cook the mushroom off.

I could be wrong though
Sounds good to me!

but to be honest if he is waiting until 10:30 at night to cook it...... (and as remotely pissed as me) then as healthy dose of good luck should be liberally sprinkled on too !
I'm in the US so it's only half five, have beer on the go and some Dogfish Head IPA to wash it down with so I'll be with you soon.

Man that is so wrong ! Medium ... arggh!

Mind you I do like mine bloody.

I leave my steak out on the kitchen side so it gets to room temp. Then blow torch, then red hot pan, leave it on full gas for 5 minutes. No oil. Sorted
