What beers have you liked over Christmas
Discussion
Just thought it would be a good idea to see what ales people have been drinking over the festive period as the brewerys do alot of Christmas specials etc. On a side not I have started following a bloke on twitter called @realalephil . I have drank a few of his recommendations and they have been spot on.
Eldest son moved to Brussels in October and came home dragging many interesting bottles with weird and wonderful names along with cheese and salami in good amount too - God love him!
The beers have been about 8%+, downed one called "Judas" (8.5%) earlier - he said it seemed appropriate for the festive season, and currently enjoying a small bottle of 12% "Bush".
I haven't actually paid too much attention to the names as to be honest they are all very similar and I probably won't be able to find them here anyway - they have been uniformly very lovely and appreciated though

this, really tasty stuff, and quite potent:

Yes! Excellent stuff. The chap who makes it was asked to provide an ale to flavour some oak casks for a friend, who was going to use them to make a whisky with some "ale" notes about it. But when they removed the beer, they tasted it rather than chucking it, and found it to be brilliant - and I agree.

Certainly worth a try, the blonde in small bottles is 3 for 4 quid in sainsburgers.

Any beer over 5% is too much like hard work. Tried some Abbeydale stuff called Last Rites at a beer fest recently, 11%, I found it tough going. That's wine, not beer. Beer should be quaffable IMO.
I agree with you to a point, although certain beers of the same strength are easier to drink than others. The strongest beer I've tried is 14% and came in 1 litre cans, after one of those you certainly knew you had had a drink!
Skinners Jingle Knockers took some beating this year for me - http://www.jdwrealale.co.uk/ales/skinners-jingle-k...

This is staple diet when I go away with the lads for the annual pilgrimage to the south of France. Lovely and good choice.
Also had a few pints of Spiced Christmas Pudding ale in the local a few weeks ago. Can't remember the brewery though.
Oh, and a Batemans Rosey Nosey as well, that's a nice Christmas pint.
