New Year's Eve Nibbles

So what have we all got planned for NYE nibbles. I'm planning on a venison casserole with home made bread (of some description) mash and green veggies. Only a few of us for the celebrations this year, but thought that might be nice and simple but yummy.

Cannot think of any canapes or nibbles so might just drink instead.

Im almost embarrased to say I went to iceland and stocked up on "cheap crap" to go in the oven which will be accompanied by a bottle of Jack Daniels and a bottle of coke.

It's only me and hubby as usual so i dont bother with anything fancy and im almost ashamed to say i really do like cheap party food

Usual stuff really, home made like, will be doing:

potato skins with cheese and bacon - accompanied by jack daniels dip, blue cheese dip and salsa dip
sliced Porky Whites sausages with cocktail sticks accompanied by mustard mayo dip
chicken wings marinaded and cooked in honey, soy sauce, tomato sauce and chilli powder
garlic mushrooms with lemon and parsley
prawns in batter with a thai dipping sauce


anything else I can think of between now and then...

We're just doing nibbles as opposed to a full blown meal. It'll probably comprise of;

- oysters
- gravadlax
- crayfish tail cocktails
- bruschettas
- ham and chutneys
- lots of cheese

And a veritable st load of booze.

I did a big buffet spread for a few people round on Boxing night and it was picked at but lots of wastage.
NYE for a similar bunch (12/14) will be old favourite of a bloody big pan of scouse, red cabbage and crusty bread!
