Wine Recommendation needed
Discussion
Im leaving my current job and was thinking of getting my manager a thank you gift. I was thinking of getting a her a bottle of wine. Do you think this is a good idea?
The problem is that i dont drink alcohol at all so i have no idea what so ever to get. So can anyone reccomend me something to get locally for around £20 max?
thanks

'Demi-Sec' is sweeter.
That's quite an understatement, 'Half Dry' is a literal but misleading tranlation. Unless she is addicted to sugar steer well clear of it.Fizzy Chardonnay perhaps!

NB: I encounter quite a lot of people drinking champagne at weddings and nobody seems to be critical of it, or say 'I'm getting leather and chocolate'; they just drink it

Is there anything between Brut and Demi-Sec?
Fizzy Chardonnay perhaps!
Er, not really IME. 'Demi Sec' might have a literal translation related to the word 'Dry' but it may as well be 'So sweet that your teeth have already fallen out and are running for the hills'.Fizzy Chardonnay perhaps!

ETA- Needless to say, I tend to look for the word 'Brut'.
And not the bloke of the similar latinate name, before you start.

Show's a bit more thought then just popping down your everyday supermarket...... some branches of Waitrose stock it, if not have look about the net on line.
