I have really struggled with these over the decades.
Is there any such a thing as a tin opener that actually works, works well, and works well for some time?
I buy them in twos and threes, as I can't be bothered taking the first failure back to the shop to swop it for a second one, which then might work, but only for a while. When I buy a supposedly good one, at ten or twenty quid, they too only work for a few weeks or a month or three.
I get through several a year, and have just got rather angry at my latest new one that has just butchered a tin of red kidney beans.
WTF is it with tin openers? (And no, it's not me, I can work the bloody things properly).
Any recommendations gratefully received
Manual is preferred, but will reluctantly consider electric if it's as apparent to the rest of you as it is to me that there's no such thing as a good manual tin opener

I have this one.

It has never failed to open anything and I have even used the powered sharpening stone on the back to good effect (no I don't own any posh knives). The little magnetic arm thingy to catch the cut lid was useless, but that was easily removed.
I gave up on manual openers a long time ago.

My missus is Finnish and they (seem to) exclusively use this type... it's taken a while to get used to it, and the many, many early attempts made me want to throw it into the bin, but now it's so simple and straight-forward I'm not sure I'd go back to one of those new-fangled jobbies. Weird.
