Milk is nice, we like it. Then it goes off so we throw it away. But if we keep it and let it go off more, it becomes yoghurt, which we buy separately.

Am i missing something?

You could apply that logic to cheese.

I think it's maybe more complicated than that.

Now I might be wrong but if you want to make your own yoghurt
Heat the milk until boiled . Then allow to cool until lukewarm then wrap in a towel and in the morning you have natural yoghurt

Edited to add after the milk has cooled down add a tablespoon of natural yoghurt

I think you can use live natural yoghurt as a "start/base" for more yoghurt?
