Where do you get the best Fish and Chips in the world?
Discussion
I was just thinking - I really love fish and chips!
Then I got to thinking, what were the best Fish & Chips I ever tasted?
Well, I remember back in the 1950s, a van (!!!) used to come round our estate with a slopping vat of hot fat in the back (goodness knows what the health and safety issues would be today??!!??) and we couldn't wait to grab our scrumptious lunch-time meal.
I think the guy used to use beef fat!! Cholesterol Ahoy!! But Boy, were they good!
Go on, where do you find YOUR best Fish & Chips???

Marina fisheries in whitby, bizzy lizzies in skipton, and the mobile van that travels around bodmin moor does pretty bloody fantastic fish and chips to be honest. I think, the reason why they taste so good, and i know bizzy lizzies use this, is because they use beef dripping to cook the chips in. It's what harry ramsden used to use, before he sold the company. Oh, and yes, the magpie cafe, trenchers and a couple of other places in whitby are very very nice, but rather on the steep side

I thought it was all hype until I actually went and tried them myself - they really ARE the best fish & chips I know. And a nice drive to get there too.My locals are Land & Sea in Polmont and Benny T's in Laurieston, both good-verging-on-great, but Anstruther is another league.
Edit: my 1000th post on a motoring website and it's about fish & chips - doh... (at least it's something that, being Scottish, I'm an expert on
