I'm not normally a fan of the Bloody Mary, but I had one a couple of weeks ago that was a real slap-in-the-face in a glass. Tomato, tabasco, vodka, strong pepper & freezing temperature all conspired into a sensory overload that felt amazing, a real instant chest-wig.

Others since have just tasted like tomato juice TBH (must've been the barmaid), but I cant help but feel that such a sensation would be awesome to blow out the cobwebs when you're in your morning trance.

Anyone have anything more potent than a coffee & cigarette in the morning?

If you go for the bloody mary and omit the vodka you've still got a fine pick-me-up. If it's too strong, replace the measure of vodka with a splash of cold water. The tobasco will get your metabolism going if you're heavy handed with it and the potassium in the tomato juice will give you a pleasant boost.

Somewhat 'Council', but I'm a big fan of 'Relentless' (green can).

For my bloody/virgin marys I make sure to add the following to the Tomato juice:

Ice
Good glug of Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco
Lemon Juice
Celery Salt

Stick of celery is entirely optional. It all gives it that something extra and you can adjust the amount of each to your taste.

Bloody Mary, best with lots of cracked black peppoer, salt, tabasco, worcester, lemon and loads of ice.

Oh, and if you're having it with alcohol, make sure you add some madeira or sweet sherry too...

This, a can of the juice one certainly gets you going and doesn't taste as rough as the Red Bull imitation one. Either that or a Berocca (though that might just be a placebo).

In my more wayward days when feeling particularly rough, a line of coke and vodka before work would get me flying straight again. No use to you due to the 'no alcohol' rule unfortunately smile
^^ That, (apart from the vodka) I would always save a line for a "kick me nuts" in the morning if I had to get up, them was the days frown

You know when I said I went to Morocco for Christmas? I lied - it was the Betty Ford Clinic.

Substitute lime juice for lemon juice and I could go with that.

A little grated horseradish goes well too.
