I'm pretty new to this section of the site and apologise if this is a topic that has been covered before but here goes.

As the title says really, what simple foods do you love? This is inspired by my late night snack that I am currently about to devour, the good old cheese and ham sandwich. Nothing fancy. Some sliced, proper ham, nice cheddar and some sliced white.

One of life's simple pleasures, surely? Can be eaten as is in sandwich form, toasted, grilled, left open faced and microwaved with tomato purée to create a mini pizza (scuzzy but nice on occasion).

This is my culinary tale of unmitigated joy, what is yours?

Welsh rarebit.
Mix one egg per slice, loads of grated cheddar, dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
Grill bread one side, turn over, top, and grill.
Add more Worcestershire sauce.

I love Belly Pork, in slices with good crackling. I know lots of people on here have it with allsorts of sauces etc.
But I love pure and simple Belly Pork. I'll gladly sit there with 3-4 slices (off the joint) and half a roll of kitchen roll to mop up the fat. (Stop it ya dirty buggers)

My old student curry - fried onion, lump of mince, tin of beans, load of curry powder. Ready in < 20 mins. Stodgy gorgeousness.

ETA - another childhood favourite - fishcake sandwiches with tommy k.

Are the additions anything to do with tabasco? yum

Discovered the US rat packs have got little dinky bottles of tabasco in them - best thing in them by far, kept them for future use, especially for pot mess.

Bacon sandwich. Cook Bacon, place between slices of bread, add Mayo, delicious.

Macaroni and cheese.. but the lazy way. Boil Macaroni elbows, grate cheddar cheese, sprinkle on liberally. Heaven.

And Fruit Loops are tough to beat smile

I've never had a baked camembert before, I think I'll try that tonight!

My list:
Fried tomato sandwich.
Toasted and buttered muffins with a little salt and black pepper.
Crusty stick sliced and grilled with oak smoked cheese. Tomato chutney dolloped on top.
