I bought some today, I really like trying different sauces but the jury is out with this one!

confused

Anybody else tried it and / or have ideas for it rather than just a sandwich?

I started a thread about this last week and got no replies, must be just us two!

it has fantastic potential, but I found it to be too fake tasting, like what you'd expect lab-synthesised guinness to taste like. i tasted it with the ultimate sauce test - a pork pie - and was sorely disappointed.

a pukka version from the likes of tiptree would be fantastic.

You are right, it just not quite there!

Either Guinness doesn't really make for a good sauce or HP don't know how to harness it biggrin

Having once worked in Marketing I know that such things are invented by bored MMs looking to get something on their CV and their face in the press.

Just the local orange supermarket, but should imagine the blue-and-white-stripey one et al do it too.

They do, but as others have said, it isn't that good.

Totally agree. But then I also purchased Lemon & Pepper Salad Cream and Fiery Chilli Tomato Ketchup at the same time, and Heinz definitely have it in the bag with those two!

I tried the Marmite with Guinness and wasn't impressed. Reading this it sounds like I made the right decision to swerve this latest marketing gimmick.

I thought it was quite nice, but the barman thought I was nuts.

seriously though, I prefer original HP, and that is to any brown sauce. It's all orrible [sic] compared to HP.
