On Sunday I managed to put together one of my best non recipe meals for a long time. I was not sure what to get so just walked round Waitrose to get inspiration.

Anyway whilst wandering I noticed a bottle of Chapel Down Flint Dry, white wine. And thought I'd give it a go.

It was bloody lovely, really crisp and probably one of the nicest whites I have had in a long time. This will be a regular buy for me from now on. I spend far too much trying various wines that I end up not liking enough to warrant buying again.

But this one is a definate for me.

Does anyone have any other English or British recomendations?

Wickham - I like the Fume and the Dry. Although I've now run out so need another visit. Added advantage is the on-site restaurant is Vatika which is Atul Kochhars place and is very nice.

Stanlake Park - I like the Bacchus and the Regatta here. And have also enjoyed the sparkling. The red is unusually for english wine worth a try.

Camel Valley - The fizz is excellent and multi award winning, otherwise the Altantic dry is brilliant.

And finally Nyetimber, never been to here but the fizz is again excellent, better than a lot of Champagne actually have a flavour rather than acid and bubbles.

I have sampled most of the denbies wines which were all very nice. Can also recommend the red from sharphams. Will have to check out the camel valley vineyard when we're down that way.
