My sister is visiting this weekend with her 7 and 1.5 year olds in tow.
The restaurants I usually go to around my 'hood (soho) don't really seem appropriate for such young kids, as they tend to be lively, have loud music etc.
Was thinking I could take them to Byron once, burgers always go down well with kids.
Any other suggestions nearby or in south ken/notting hill?

I can't remember exactly where it is so might be a useless suggestion but the rainforest cafe is always a hit!

If you like Tex Mex, the Texan Embassy on the West side of Trafalgar Sq near the bottom of Haymarket is where I take my kids.

Big plate of free Nachos to start with a killer salsa sauce.

Bodeans (American style Ribs/burgers/BBQ etc) on Poland St is great.

Can't believe people recommend the Rainforest cafe, it's pure torture!

Shaftesbury Avenue, so 5 minutes from Soho.

Yes it's overpriced and the food isn't great but the kids will absolutely love it.

Without a doubt one of my best eating out memories as a kid.

Also, one of the american themed diner/ burger joints would be quite fun. Again, there is one around the Soho/ Piccadilly area called Ed's. They also have one in the Trocadero, which would be fun for the kids before or afterwards.

Used to love Ed's Easy Diner, particularly the chips and gravy, which they want to call Wet Fries smile

Chilli Dog, chips and gravy and a Rolling Rock was the end of many an evening out.

Certainly fun if you want to be able to point out homosexuals, vagrants and clip joints to the kids smile

Kettners is close by, and fairly child friendly.

And if you want to play it ultra safe, there are Pizza Expresses everywhere.

I knew it was always overpriced but I thought the food was always pretty good, haven't eaten there in a good while though! Personally I think it's a great place to take the kids.
Hope the weekend goes well whatever!

True and I said as much in my post, but the kids will love it, which I guess is the main thing here.
