Heard about it. Tried it a while ago then again yesterday and what a superb way to cook, OK takes a few hours but easy and very flavorsome. Did chicken with fresh herbs and carrots and onions and celery. Does seem to be obscure method though so any recipes worth a punt? Beef next when I have a chance, the one recipe I have says all ingredients in dry, I fancy a small bit of stock may help along.

Steaming a dish. You put all the ingredients in a bowl dry, in my case its a oven proof utensil jar (saw the jars and they fitted the bill). It is tall and around one or two portion sized depending what you are cooking. So in my case it was a breast of chicken, bundle of preferred herbs, garlic etc. Onion and carrots and celery. My jug was full so fortunately I bought two in the sale so did one for the mrs with herbs and flavouring of here choice.

Do the lid you would use for steaming an xmas pud, grease proof and foil with an expansion fold and tie on and steam for two hours. They cook in the juices they have, the chicken was very tender and you could taste the herbs etc in it all the way through the meat. Made the mistake with the onion, should have gone on the bottom but the pot or jug was about half full of liquid when cooked.

Well, jugged hare, sounds good apart from the blood... But, wondering how certain cuts of beef will do in there as there is no stock apart from what comes out the food. Also food with bones in should come out a lot tastier.

Nothing wrong with the blood, helps to thicken the sauce & adds flavour! ( but then again I like black pudding lick )
