"Jamie's Italian" in Liverpool
Discussion
Went there for dinner yesterday - no real intent about it, was in Liverpool with some friends and their two young kids. We had a couple of hours to kill before their ferry so thought we'd give it a whirl. To be honest I had some worries about it just being a cash-in (Cynical? Me?) but actually I was quite impressed
, the food probably wouldn't win any awards but it was certainly better than most "gastro pub" food I've tasted and was similarly priced. The staff were friendly and helpful and rather suprisingly they were well geared up for handling small children.

You could tell the staff had memorised absolutely everything and how it was cooked, They didn't shut up if you asked them anything about the menu
Although we did think that all the Jamie tat for sale(Cook books, towels and oven gloves etc) was a bit naff.
