Electro House feedback please...

I do a bit of remix work for a record company every now and then and they have recently asked me to help on a project for the lead man of the 80s group, Mr President.
Apparently he's trying to make a comeback or something into the dance scene and is releasing a 2011 remake of a track they released in the early 90s. This is what I have been asked to remix.

Here's a link to my remix of it. It's a 320kb MP3 so as good quality you are going to get without a Wav. The mastering isn't final, just what I've done in a few mins to get it nice and punchy and sounding decent enough through my speakers. The record company will be doing the final mastering anyway so it doesn't really matter.

I think the sounds all sit nicely in the mix - they'd pack even more punch with some proper mastering, as you've already alluded to!
Just two things that I don't like (it's entirely subjective of course!)
- The male vocal... the female part's pretty decent and gives a nice twist to an electro track... I think it would sound great on the dancefloor (with a proper 32 bar DJ friendly intro/ outro of course!)... I guess the label may wish you to include the male part too, but to me it makes the track sound too dated for a modern rework - if it was my mix (and it isn't of course) I'd think about dropping it or at the very least cutting out a couple of choice phrases and inserting them at various points!
- I don't know the name of the effect, but the looped parts ramping up in pitch between sections - they just sound a bit 'Scouse House' to me!
I hope that doesn't sound too harsh - going to have a listen to your some other stuff now!
PS. That snippet of sound right at the start I really like (the bit that reminds me a bit of Double 99 - Rip Groove IYSWIM) - I'd think about winding that in and out a bit more - it's gold!

I would personally ditch the male vocal altogether but he is the artist so he does really need to be in there. I've ditched a fair bit of him already, just keeping his 2 little rap bits to seperate out the chorus.
Kinda like the build up bit personally. Builds into the chorus nicely, although thinking of reworking the chorus sections as they lack energy a bit I think. Going to have a play tomorrow as I've got a few ideas.
