They should have seen the early Skynyrd shows then.

"Why have more than one guitar? How can you need more than one?" - How many things are wrong with this statement?

"They are just screaming into the microphone" - ok, go back to sleep.

"Fast playing has no emotion" - because slow blues playing with lots of bent and held notes has more "soul" right? Because "emotion" can be quantified, and has a correlation with the speed of the music too silly

Have you been on the road in/with a band?

Yes; long enough to realise that the fact that being on the road with a band is so much like Spinal Tap that there isn't really any point mentioning it, since everyone is already thinking exactly the same thing.

We once had a drummer who hadn't seen it. He got fired. biggrin

It annoys me when people say something builds to a crescendo. No you fool, a crescendo is the actual building not where it ends up.

I once did a gig in a theatre in London, and I kid you not, we got lost trying to find the stage.. and yes we could hear the audience above. To make matters worse, the drummer was Marc Parnell, brother of Ric (one of the Spinal Tap drummers - the druggie one - and yes it runs in the family). When Marc tapped his sticks up against the wall and shouted "Rock 'n Roll" It was too much to bear. I started that gig with tears of laughter rolling down my face.

ETA as for "incredibly condescending things musos say"... Did you hear about the string quartet that went to play a gig in Washington D.C. and came straight back again? (Nout wrong with a bit of elitist humour)
