I can't access it at work but will look later.
What software did you use ?
So you know what to avoid, eh? What software did you use ?

FL Studio and Kristal. I play with ideas on my Korg digital piano and Roland MC303 as it feels less restrictive to be able to use a keyboard/hardware than purely software; it's also more fun. Then scribble down the notes used, pauses etc using very dodgy notation on blank score paper before the boring work begins.

Probably get it cheaper in Game as they often have special offers on this level and age of software. I picked up Dance Ejay 6 for about £5 as part of a deal with two other games...

As a long long time fan of the genre - some 20+ years here's my critique.
The positives:
Have a listen to these for some inspiration - they illustrate what I'm struggling to put into words.

The positives:
- I'd probably buy it if it way on i-tunes.
- I'm reminded very much of cosmic baby - which is definitely a positive.
- Some nice individual elements.
- It's well sequenced.
- Nice use of instruments
- The transitions are too long, and by that I mean too long periods of the same thing. If you want maintain the length of a riff, then it needs to be building or falling and not remain static.
- I agree with the you-tube post - the soundstage is too narrow.
- Could do with a bit more bass - the bass drum is a litte weedy on its own.
- It doesn't tell a story for me - I like my trance to build into something
- It's missing a hook that gets under your skin - a riff that will keep you humming it when you've finished listening.

Thanks. I agree with all the negatives; it's stuff I've also decided that was wrong with it, too, so I've spent ages redoing all the drum loops as it was bugging me. I'm still working on some of the other things as I kinda get bored of listening to it ie something isn't right! The positives:

BTW I am chuffed that you said you'd buy it if it were on itunes. Thanks for making my evening.

Ok, I've uploaded a revised version:
