To all the drummers out there

Afternoon, how's it going? Right, drummers and drum kits. I haven't played in a long long time, but I'd like to again which means buying a new kit (believe it or not I still have a 5 piece Premier Royale kit sat in the attic from 1984!).

I can spend ages going through the drum suppliers sites and listen via youtube to seminars and stuff, but what would be interesting to know is how you went about buying your dream kit (or indeed how you'd go about buying your dream kit?).

I can find pictures of what I'd love, kit wise, and I mean I really love this, but I doubt very much if I could turn up at a music shop and find one just hanging around up for sale right? How did you go about buying yours and what did you get?
