Is there some way to clean the recording from a 30 year old cassette? Reason I ask is that back in the 70s I was in a band and we made a semi-professional demo recording of four of our tracks. Because it was used for taking round the pubs of West London to look for gigis it was put onto cassette and all I have left is one of these from the time - 1977. I would love to get the this stored onto CD and have the sound cleaned to remove the background hiss. I would be prepared to pay for the service but wondered of what I want is possible?

There's a freeware program called Audacity that my dad has used to clean up a load of his old reel to reel and vinyl to some effect.
