Online Guitar Tab - OLGA etc issues ever resolved?

Were the copyright issues ever resolved for online guitar tabs etc??

I've bought loads of tab books etc but occassionally I'll hear something and nip online to check out a tab - is it still illegal?

I was always on the side of supporting amateurs doing tabs as

A. it encourages people to play guitar
B. allows novices like me to learn some popular or good pieces that I can;t pick up by ear
C. I genuinely don't consider ASCII based tabs as copyright infringment...

anyone else know or care to share thoughts?

It never got to court. Some big scary lawyers send out letters, and rather than fight it (and there's a pretty good chance of winning IMO) they take it down.
